Face Recognition in Google Images Search

You have heard it very often that there are 7 different people around the world who look like you. Now you can find all these people who have similar faces as you have. Google is going to do this for you. Why does google has so much importance in our life??

Google is implementing face recognition in google's images search. Till now we find only tagged images. If you search for any image. You will find only those images which are tagged by other users. Text doesn't always describe images nicely plus the tagging process is also very tedious . So they are planning to use Image Processing, Computer Vision, Visual Search. Visual search is something they are very excited about which includes facial recognition and understanding about the pixels in the pictures. Search the images with an image as search query. For example, In the next 3-4 years you would be able to upload your pictures to google and google would be able to find all the matches of the images across the web to your face. Definitely results will have the pictures of more than 7 different people who have a similar face. Google is also exploring "scene analysis," identifying objects outside of people in a picture, such as color of flowers background or even landmarks.
